C-Spec™ for Windows®
C-Spec ‘97 (for Windows®) is a spectral acquisition
and manipulation program that can provide the user with a full compliment
of acquisition routines plus an extensive library of manipulation procedures
for all Ocean Optics spectrometers. C-Spec ‘97 brings the user the power
and accuracy of the popular C-Spec™ (DOS) software plus the unparalleled
ease of use of Windows®.
C-Spec ‘97 works with Ocean Optic series "1000"
and "2000" spectrometers to quickly and accurately acquire
spectra. The acquired spectra
can be readily analyzed and compared with reference, calibration, and correlative
spectra. C-Spec ‘97 also includes a wide variety of manipulation procedures
for use with the spectra acquired as well as with imported ASCII spectra.
These procedures include a variety of mathematical calculations plus many
specialized procedures including thin film thickness measurements and color
space (CIE) calculations. Because all spectral data are saved in ASCII
(.txt) files, data from C-Spec '97 can be readily exported for spreadsheet
and database applications.
C-Spec ‘97 Highlights
- C-Spec ‘97 helps you complete your acquisition and analyzes
of spectra quickly and easily with the following features:
- Continuous scan mode allows the user to view spectra
as it is continuously acquired. When an appropriate spectrum appears, it
can be "frozen" for examination and subsequent saving.
- Comparisons may be made by use of the Overlay procedure,
either in a full-scale display or in a relative (group) scale display.
Comparisons may be made between files of all classifications (i.e: calibration
files, reference files, files which are being acquired, etc.).
- Autoset integration allows C-Spec ‘97 to automatically
determine a correct scanning integration time so that a scan will be optimally
made the first time.
- Amplitude values on displayed spectra are easily found
by use of the Marker which is both mouse controlled and keyboard controlled.
- Time sequence provides procedures for continuous monitoring
and display of (a.) full spectra, (b.) amplitude values at any point along
the spectra acquired (c.) integration over any spectral band, and (d.)
ratios of points or of integrated bands.
- Color sequence is also a time sequence set of procedures
for the continuous monitoring and display of color space and color differences,
in choice of color space CIE Yxy, L*a*b*, or L*C*h* or color differences
E* or H*.
- Full Color space calculations allow the user to make
discrete color space calculations of CIE Yxy, L*a*b*, and L*C*h*, and in
color difference calculations of E* or H*.
- Mathematical calculations allow the user to make both
(spectral) file operations on files and numerical operations on files.
- File Smoothing routines include both usual multipoint
smoothing and advanced FFT smoothing. Both smoothing procedures may be
modified by the user for optimum smoothing.
- The Setup fully integrates functions of C-Spec ‘97 with
the operation characteristics of all Ocean Optics series "1000"
spectrometers for seamless performance.
